SPWG Releases Specification for 13.3-inch wide notebook LCDs

The Display Standard, April 21, 2007 - In mid-March, the SPWG released v3.8 of their industry standard specification. The primary changed from v3.5 was the addition of 13.3-inch wide aspect ratio panels to the specification. Several minor changes and corrections were also made. The 59-page document replaces prior documents, which are considered out-of-date. The broad-based group encompasses organizations from throughout the supply chain for the displays used in notebooks PCs. Discussions are underway about next steps, including defining the usage of LED backlights.
